#DollarTree #Giardiniera
Dollar tree carries Giardiniera again but its not as good as i remember it way too many huge chunks of carrots, a watery brine, virtually no oinions nor celery are most of the reasons why this is a sub-par product.
The label says Mc. Trader, World Class Quality eat. 1958.
The back of the jar says Mclane Global is the distributorout of Texas. This is a product of Egypt.
Its interesting to know Mclane was said to be an exclusive distributer to food banks and they have a peanut butter that is a favorite of many who received it when they visited a food bank for nutritional assistance.
🤔 What is Giardiniera?
Giardiniera is an Italian relish made from pickled vegetables. The name comes from the Italian word “giardino,” which means garden. Italians traditionally preserved a mix of vegetables—such as carrots, cauliflower, celery, green beans, peppers, and onions—so they could enjoy them during the winter months. There are many homemade versions of giardiniera, each with its own twist. Some cooks finely chop the vegetables, while others prefer larger pieces. The brine can be vinegar-based or spiked with hot pepper, and some versions include olive oil. Giardiniera is a delightful addition to sandwiches, antipasto platters, salads, and various dishes. Once you’ve tried homemade giardiniera, you’ll never go back to store-bought!
