The old school, original Cracker Jack…the kind with the peanuts, is really good stuff. I used to love that snack. This new recipe, called birthday cake, is just not so good.

The consistency of the popcorn was all over the place and I genuinely felt nervous with each bite because some of the popcorn was hard as a rock while other pieces were fluffy like a pillow. There are no peanuts in this variety of cracker jacks and the “birthday cake” flavor is okay at best.
