As a New Orleans native, back in my teenage and young adult years I listened to a lot of Master P., Juvenile, and all the artists signed to the two biggest local rap record labels in the south. This video seeks to compare the two rap giants and asks for your opinion on which label put out the best hits during their “glory years.” While both labels had many rappers all from the same geography of the United States, there was a distinctly different sound, both the beats production and the lyrical delivery among the two.

– Who was No Limits Records?
No Limit Records was a record label founded in 1991 by rapper and entrepreneur Percy “Master P” Miller. The label quickly gained popularity in the 1990s and early 2000s for its unique Southern hip-hop sound and its ability to produce multiple successful artists.

Under the leadership of Master P, No Limit Records released a number of successful albums and produced several multi-platinum selling artists, including Master P himself, as well as other notable artists such as Mystikal, Mia X, and C-Murder.

No Limit Records was also known for its distinctive branding, which featured the label’s name in bold letters on album covers and merchandise. The label’s success in the 1990s helped to establish Southern hip-hop as a major force in the music industry.

– Who was Cash Money Records?
Cash Money Records is a record label founded in 1991 by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams in New Orleans, Louisiana. The label is known for its contributions to Southern hip-hop and for producing successful artists such as Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Drake.

Cash Money Records gained mainstream success in the late 1990s and early 2000s with the release of albums such as “400 Degreez” by Juvenile and “Tha Block Is Hot” by Lil Wayne. The label also popularized a unique sound that blended Southern hip-hop with bounce music, a New Orleans-based style of rap.

Over the years, Cash Money Records has signed and released albums by several other notable artists, including Nicki Minaj and Tyga. The label has also been involved in several legal disputes and controversies over the years, including disputes with former artists and allegations of financial mismanagement.
