This is the third highlight video (MixTape) for my “2K14 in 2025” series for my new series that will be focusing on playing NBA 2K14 in 2025. 2K14 on PC, especially with mods, is awesome!

This video shows off highlights from replays saved during my time playing the game recently. NBA 2K14 is the absolute best basketball video game experience you can have on a lower end PC or desktop computer. And with a modding community that has produced many wonderful upgrades for the game, the gameplay is very enjoyable even after more than a decade past its release date.
New videos will be added with some level of frequency through the year (2025).
My inspiration for the video came from trying to find a decent basketball game to play on a very old, now low-end, HP ENVY DV4 laptop. I can run this game with almost everything turned up and a bunch of mods with no issue on a laptop that has Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. I can even record me playing with no issues as long as I’m recording with an application like Dxtory which can capture uncompressed, lossless video (uses much less resources but outputs huge files that need to be converted afterwards).
I had no idea this iteration of the NBA 2K series had such a vast amount of user created mods and upgrades. Upgrading the games rosters, graphics, music, etc required a bit of a learning curve. There was definitely some trial and error. Now that I’ve got it all figured out, I’d like to help increase interest and awareness of the game, its relevance to this day, and how enjoyable it is in hopes to motivate the developers of all the modifications to continue their great work.
In addition to highlights, I’ll also make videos covering gameplay, tips, tricks, settings and slider adjustments, and help others successfully install and implement the modded files that make the game feel and play like a modern sports video game.
