While the numbers aren’t made public, I’m confident there’s a high percentage of stolen phones, smartphones and tablets being purchased by these EcoAtm kiosks. They’re frequently located in Walmart lobbies, and are often surrounded by shady looking characters.
If you’re wondering what thieves and druggies live in your community, spend an hour monitoring the traffic at these EcoATM’s. In my own experiences, I see obvious drug addicts and abusers, as well as those who most certainly are thieves and burglars. Often times, when I watch who are cashing in electronic devices for quick cash, they are attempting to obscure their faces.
