Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old conservative activist and CEO of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at approximately 12:10-12:20 p.m. local time while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Video from the event showed Kirk being shot as he spoke to the crowd from under a white pop-up tent, after which the crowd dispersed with people shouting “Run, run, run!” Fox News His wife Erika and their two children were reportedly at the university campus with him during the incident. BBC

The shooting has drawn condemnation from political leaders across the political spectrum. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro called the attack “horrifying” and said this type of violence “cannot be allowed in our society.” ABC News President Trump also expressed sympathy for Kirk’s family.
