I’m not sure you, I, or anyone else should be shopping at Ollie’s. This video shares some of my observations about their less than politically correct signage.

I recently visited Ali’s Bargain Outlet for the first time, and I was blown away by the variety of brands, deep discounts, and unique finds. It reminded me of old-school shopping experiences at places like Big Lots and McFrugal, with a mix of great deals and unexpected purchases.
However, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when I noticed outdated and problematic signage throughout the store. Seeing the mascot labeled with the term “Oriental” was shocking—how is this still happening in 2025? It’s outdated, offensive, and completely out of touch with modern cultural sensitivity.
Then, I came across another sign featuring the mascot as a stereotypical Mexican character, and I couldn’t believe it. In an era where companies are being called out for tone-deaf branding, this felt like a step backward. It’s disappointing to see a store with such great deals completely miss the mark when it comes to inclusivity and respect.
Watch my full experience and let me know—do you think stores should be held accountable for problematic marketing, or am I overreacting?
