It's a smarter move than using shredder wd-40. I don't have an special shredder oil, then asked myself if I can oil a paper shredder with motor oil. I did a google search for, "can I use motor oil in a paper shredder" and the results were mixed. I know you shouldn't try to oil your paper shredder with wd-40 because wd40 isn't a lubricant. I already know how to oil a paper shredder, the question was what should I use based on what I have available.
