Currently, I’m 37 years old with a 38″ waist and weigh 250 lbs. I smoke a few packs of cigarettes each week and tend to drink (heavily) a few nights each week. I need to fix myself.
As I explain in the video, I’ve been an abuser of alcohol and a smoker of cigarettes for a long time. I’ve never really tried to quit either of them. While smoking seems to be the easier habit for me to give up, stopping my alcohol consumption could be a real challenge. Additionally, I would like to and need to get back into the gym and lose some weight. I don’t feel good. I don’t look good. I need to try healthier living before it’s too l ate.
I don’t think judging my fitness level solely by my weight is going to be accurate forever (because I tend to put on muscle which will eventually stop my weight from going down on the scale), but my waist size should keep shrinking. I’ll also get a body fat % scale which is sort of accurate. I weight 250 lbs. I would like to get back down to a muscular 210 lbs. I wonder if I still have the testosterone at this age to put on muscle like I could 5+ years ago.
Ideally, I’d like to enjoy drinking alcohol in moderation, but I really just don’t think that’s possible for me. In my entire adult life, I do not believe I have gone more than a few days without a drink of alcohol…..and by “drink”, that usually means binge drinking.
I’m going to take this a day at a time. I might succeed. I might fail. Let’s see what happens.
