Drago’s Metairie Restaurant Review

For the first time this past Friday I sat down for a dinner with my girlfriend (our first dinner date) at Drago’s Restaurant here in Metairie, Louisiana. Drago’s bills itself as a Seafood Restaurant and Oyster bar. This may seem like a strange choice for me since I don’t like seafood but it was my girlfriend’s choice. I looked at Drago’s Dinner Menu Online to see what there was on the menu that I would like to eat. There are a few chicken options for a main course that I had my eye on.

Drago’s opened in February of 1970. They’re now located in an area of Metairie, Louisiana called “Fat City” on the street corners of North Arnault and 17th street. What I can remember about the atmosphere inside is that it was kinda loud (hey, people in New Orleans like to talk, loudly), the kitchen was in plain view, and every table in the house was taken.

Along with Stoli vodka martinis, Amstel Light beer, Woodford Reserve and Diet Coke cocktails, and Stoli cosmopolitans which were all very potent, we enjoyed a sample of the chargrilled oysters, spinach dip appetizer, stuffed lobster and chicken romano. The food was great. The service was excellent. Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience which deserves two thumbs up. I would definitely eat there again.
