Here’s another thrift shopper special, this time of the pasta variety. Sure, there are plenty of monthly expenses you can cut corners and save money on like drinking tap water instead of bottled, watching movies at home instead of the theater, getting half off for the pregnant hooker instead of the one who just started out and only has a few stds, but when you start cutting corners on food, you had better be careful! Did I make a wise purchase? Let’s find out.

I do a lot of my thrift shopping at Family Dollar. These bargain stores are everywhere around here. I buy their store brand stuff to save money. Sometimes I don’t like what I saved money on, sometimes I do. In this instance, I do like what I saved money on and really, really enjoyed this chicken bacon pasta salad concoction. This pasta salad only cost a dollar! I added a can of Picket Fence brand chicken ($2.50) and a nice plop of reduced fat mayonnaise (pennies). The pasta cooked up just right and the flavor packet offered a nice helping of dehydrated vegies, herbs and spices.

The second coffee I ordered from BocaJava.com is called Tropical Two-Step. This is a bold blend coffee. The Boca Java website describes this coffee as:

I am very happy with this coffee and rate it two thumbs up! I am looking forward to ordering more coffee from BocaJava and will also be trying a 24-pack of coffee from ShockCoffee.com.

Boca Java Riptide Raspberry Coffee Review with video

With my first order from Boca Java, I tried their “Riptide Raspberry”. This is a dark coffee that tastes really delicious. There’s are both regular and decaffeinated versions. I chose the kind with caffeine in it. I like the taste of coffeee but I also like the quick boost of energy that comes from drinking regular coffee and don’t see the point in drinking decaf.

It seems this coffee is either discontinued or sold out at the moment. We did find something super awesome instead. Use the “best deals” link below to check it out.

Pomegranate is all the rage nowadays. People think this shit is like some miracle, super-fruit from the future. Well, I have fallen for a few products that contain pomegranate because of all the hype I’ve heard. This fruit tastes damn good and if it has all these awesome antioxidants then I’m all for it. This juice mix from ocean spray looked promising. The shit tasted really good, especially with vodka in it. What I was disappointed in are the main ingredients; Grape Juice and Apple Juice! WTF?

I paid over $4.00 for this and the main ingredients are from apples and grapes. Oh well, at least it tastes good.

I found this deal through the FatWallet forum and figured I’d put up an unboxing and review for the patrons of that forum to check out. I have been searching high and low for a deal even close to this good and there simply is nothing that can match this price for the specs.
