ELIMINATOR KILLER PLUS Fire Ant Granules Review

How to kill fire ants in my review of this Eliminator Pest Control option which uses BIFENTHRIN as the active ingredient.

To kill and prevent fire ants, you can apply this either directly to mounds (ant piles), scatter it across your yard using a spreader or both. In my review, I did a target application to see if direct contact with an active fire ant mound would successful kill the ants or at least force them to relocate (hopefully far, far away). While I’m using this to specifically kill fire ants, Eliminator Killer Plus Fire Ant Granules claims to kill more than 50 different types of insects. This list of additional insects that can be killed or contained is similar to all similar products which use BIFENTHRIN as the active ingredient.

What is BIFENTHRIN?

BIFENTHRIN is a pyrethroid insecticide used primarily against the red imported fire ant by influencing its nervous system. It has a high toxicity to aquatic organisms.

The 50+ listed insects this fire ant killer claims to also kill include:

Carpenter Ants,  Red Harvester Ants,  Odorous Pyramid Ants, Pharaoh (Sugar) Ants, Fire Ants*, Foraging Fire Ants as well as Fall Armyworms, Bluegrass Billbug, Black Cutworms, Hypernodes and Bluegrass Weevils. Chiggers, Chinch Bugs, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Grasshoppers, Mealybugs, Pillbugs, Silverfish, (Lawn Moth), and Sowbugs, Argentine Ants, Black Turf Ants, Black Turfgrass Ataenius, Fleas (including Cat Fleas), Leafhoppers, Spiders (including Brown Recluse  Spiders) and Ticks (including Brown Dog Ticks), Centipedes, Millipedes, Pavement Ants, Mole Crickets (including Tawny Mole Crickets), Maggots and more!

Claims on the bag include:

  • Broadcast and Mound Treatment
  • Kills in 24 hours
  • Soil-penetrating formula reaches deep below ground
    Kills 50+ listed insects
  • Fast acting and odor free
  • ELIMINATOR FIRE ANT KILLER PLUS GRANULES 3 LB BAG

There are some very negative and poor reviews about this product. On Walmart’s site, I saw more than one person, located in Florida, United States, saying this did nothing for their fire ant problem. If you watch my video review, you’ll see my experience was in contrast to their experiences.
