Eton FR300 Review with video
If there was to be a big hurricane like Katrina to head this way (New Orleans, LA), I would be ready……to listen to the radio. I introduce to you the Eton FR300. This little emergency radio is nothing short of awesome! I have been pretending there is an emergency nearly every day so I can use this radio to listen to the all sports AM radio station while I work.
Eton FR300 Features:
Powered by a rechargeable Ni-CD battery pack or 3 AA batteries. The rechargeable nickel cadmium battery pack is charged by the user cranking the power generator via a handle located on the left side of the unit.
AM Radio
FM Radio
TV audio tuner
wx band tuner (weather band)
Fine Tuning Knob (a smaller dial inside the main dial to get the radio frequency just right)
Siren (pretty loud)
Flashlight (2 white l.e.d.)
Flashing emergency light (1 red l.e.d.)
Cell Phone Charger (you will have to crank for like 20 minutes straight to get minute or so of talk time) – Mine came with a bunch of adapters for cell phones made by samsung, nokia, and others but did not have an adapter for my Motorolla PEBL. I would imagine they have updated this because this is the same adapter needed for the uber popular Motorolla RAZR.
Looks retro cool
Small in size
Feels like a quality build gadget
Volume is pretty loud
Power Generator is pretty efficient (If I crank this thing for 2 minutes straight, the radio will run at medium volume for what seems like an hour.)
Watch the Eton FR300 in action below in our video review. I show you the lights, sirens, radio, and power generator being used.
