Oak Leaf Wine Review
Mario Pulido is my her0. He’s the man behind Oak Leaf Vineyards.
Oak Leaf Vineyards makes wine that costs $2.77 at my local Walmart. Personally, I think Oak Leaf wine is fucking amazing. For less than $3.00/bottle, they’re vibrant, smooth and downright delicious. I’ve known a wine snob or two in my day. These guys wouldn’t go near this stuff. Why? Probably because it’s so damn cheap. What I’ll never understand is why so many people believe price is the main or only factor that dictates quality.
In its 2008 debut, Oak Leaf vineyards took home the gold at the Florida State International Wine Competition:
At the prestigious Florida State International Wine Competition this month, a new brand, Oak Leaf Vineyards from California, has won gold. With 84 wineries competing in Chardonnay category, only four received gold medals and Oak Leaf was the biggest bargain by far, at $1.97 suggested retail price in California and $2.97 in most other states.
I once visited a friend in California who worked at a vineyard. When I told him I liked Barefoot Wines, another affordable wine option, he quickly turned up his nose. Out of respect, when he served us wine from his vineyard, I respectfully smiled and told him it was good. I’m a good liar. That shit was disgusting.
